Joyce M. Michaud passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in South Windsor, Connecticut after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on May 3, 1936, in Ellington, Connecticut, Joyce's life was a testament to the power of dedication, love, and resilience.
Joyce's love story is one for the ages. She shared an incredible 65 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Adrian Michaud. Together, they built a life filled with joy, challenges overcome, and a family that stands as a testament to their enduring partnership. Joyce and Adrian's example of love and commitment to one another has been carried on through their three children and their spouses; Michael and April Michaud of Windsor, CT, Steven and Kimberly Michaud of York, PA, and Patricia and Michael Pehr of Glastonbury, CT.
Joyce was a proud grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Charlotte, Bennett, Audrey, Kaitlyn and Ryan Michaud, along with Ryan's wife Victoria; Dillon and Brittany Pehr, along with Brittany's fiancé Jeffrey Sitz; and a special great-granddaughter, Kassidy Joy Sitz. She cherished every moment with them and took immense pride in their achievements and the unique individuals they became.
Joyce was the daughter of the late Carl and May Berman. She grew up instilled with the values of family and hard work, which she carried with her throughout her life. Joyce was the sister of Diane Ciechowski of Norman, OK as well as Donald, Roland, and Francis Berman, and Linda Popick, all of whom predeceased her.
Joyce’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those she touched. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we take solace in knowing that her spirit lives on through the generations she nurtured and the countless lives she enriched. Her passing is not an end but a celebration of a life well-lived and a soul that left the world a better place than she found it.
The family expresses their profound gratitude to the staff at Alto at Evergreen Walk and Compassus Hospice Care. Their compassion and care for Joyce, particularly in her final days, provided both her and her husband, Andy, with comfort and peace.
A Funeral Mass and Burial will be planned for this Spring. Memorial donations can be made in Joyce’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
