Joyce Ann Miller, 80, longtime resident of Millersville, died on Friday, January 30, 2026, under hospice care with her family by her side. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday, June 23, 1945, to Michael and Vivian (Tormollen) Vataha. Joyce graduated from Andover High School in 1963, and then later went back to school to receive her associate's degree from Anne Arundel County Community College. She was employed with the NSA for over 28 years, and she even met her "true love" there in 1966. Joyce was a Master Gardener; a licensed gardener/landscaper that required courses and hours to maintain. She was often volunteering at the Farmers Market answering gardening questions for people and her knowledge saving each plant. Her lawn was a landscaper’s paradise, where blooms and plants flourish all year long. Joyce also enjoyed to crochet blankets and a lot of family members have one of her granny square blankets. She was an avid reader; making several trips weekly to the library to restock. And then more recently, playing computer games with friends on her iPad. Her kind soul and wisdom will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure to know her.

Joyce is preceded by her parents. Michael Vataha and Vivian (Tormollen) Vataha; and her husband, Anthony Joseph Miller, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters; Andrea Shah of Pasadena, MD and Laura Miller of Pasadena; her sister, Nancy L. Lowman (Michael) of Glen Burnie; and her four grandchildren; Abby Shah, Tristan Shah, Jackson Miller-Lyman and Charlotte Miller-Lyman.
