Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A.Richard Charles Mitchell, of Glen Burnie, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on October 30, 1944, in Baltimore, Richard was the cherished son of the late George J. and Anna K. Mitchell. Affectionately known as "Uncle Dicky" by his nieces and nephews, often made his friends and colleague’s chuckle. He was a fun guy to be around.
Richard devoted a significant part of his life to his work as an Industrial Machinist, serving various companies throughout the Baltimore area. Beyond his profession, Richard proudly served his country in the Marines from 1968 to 1972, achieving the esteemed rank of Sergeant.
An avid fisherman, he was a member of Kent Island Fisherman Club and found immense joy in casting his line into the waters and later savoring the fruits of his labor. He had a passion for eating crabs that was surpassed only by his pride in cultivating his Zoysia lawn gardens. He enjoyed the time spent with his siblings, and his affection for his nieces and nephews was boundless.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 45 years, Patricia C. Mitchell (nee Lilley).
Richard is survived by his loving siblings, Marge Dishman, George Mitchell, and their families.
