Joyce Denise Parks October 22, 1956-January 18, 2026
Joyce Price Parks was born on October 22, 1956, in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to John Otis Price (deceased) and Eula Mae Price (deceased). She grew up with her siblings: sisters; Ocie and Rena Price. Brothers; Charles Price and John Otis Price Jr.; and twin brothers, Wayne and Warren Price. She was also blessed with 13 nieces and nephews among her siblings. The family later moved to Shelby, North Carolina, where Mrs. Joyce met Bobby Gene Parks Sr., her late husband. Joyce was a devoted mother to four beautiful and handsome children who loves her dearly; Jermale Price, Tonya Price, Lateasa Perry, and Bobby Parks Jr. and a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Joyce Price Parks was loving, caring, sweet, fun and full of joy. She worked as a dietician serving patients in Kings Mountain hospital. She also worked in other places doing all she could to make sure her family was well taken care of. She was a very hard worker and loved to help others. She also loved to serve in the community! She loved to get dolled up and would dance just to have a good time; she was truly the life of the party. Joyce was also stern and didn't take any mess from anybody, yet she carried a very sweet spirit. Joyce loved to play games and her favorite games
she enjoyed playing were bingo, pitty pat, and spades. She also loved to cook for her family, and she made the best chicken and rice. Growing up, she made the best pork & beans and hotdogs. She also loved to decorate and make things look nice. She enjoyed shopping at Belk and Burlington, buying cute clothes just right for her, and most of the time, not even wearin' em! Joyce was really funny once you hung around her and had time with her. She truly loved God deeply, always having the best sincere worship she could give towards God every day. Family gatherings were most important to her, and she loved cleaning up her house for company even though, truly, there wasn't even a speck of dust in her house! She attended Mt. Zion Restoration Church, where she faithfully served in the ministry as an usher under Pastor Rodney B. Freeman. Joyce Price Parks passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, with her wish granted of being surrounded by family until the end of the beginning.
As we mourn your passing, we find strength, knowing you now dwell in Heaven's length. Your spirit shines brightly, like a guiding star, leading us to joy even from afar. We will meet you again-it won't be long now, When King Jesus returns and we take our final bow. We wish to express our sincere thanks and our gratitude to our family and friends for your acts of love, kindness and sympathy shown during the passing of our beloved. Many blessings and love to all! Special Thanks to The Family of Mrs. Joyce Denise Parks.
