Retired Master Walker Sr.

Master Sgt. Tyron Eugene Walker, Sr., USMC (Ret.), 60, of Augusta, GA, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Yuma, AZ.

Life & Service

Born on November 17, 1965, in Augusta to Mildred L. Walker and the late Johnny Walker, Tyron was a proud 1983 graduate of Hephzibah High School. He dedicated 24 years of honorable service to the United States Marine Corps, serving as a veteran of the Global War on Terrorism. Throughout his distinguished career, he was the recipient of numerous medals, commendations, and honors.

Family

Tyron was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Walker; his brothers, Johnny V. Walker Sr. and Willie J. Walker Sr.; and his daughter, Aiyana A. Walker.

His legacy continues through his devoted wife, Henrietta "Dee" Walker; his sons, Tyron E. Walker II, Robert V. (Alejandra) Walker, George "Alex" Walker, and Wesley T. Walker; his mother, Mildred Walker; and his sister, Lynda J. Walker. He also leaves behind his bonus brothers, Giovanni (Regina) DiMino, Larry (Hermecender) Williams, Clarence Williams, Sammie (Marilyn) Burch, and Carl (Monicia) Thomas, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus children, and dear friends.

Services

A funeral service will be held on February 21, 2026, at Yuma Mortuary & Crematory (775 S 5th Ave, Yuma, AZ).

A local homegoing celebration will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Baptist Church (2877 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906), with Rev. Dr. Larry D. Glover officiating.

Interment

Final resting place with full military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined. Local arrangements are entrusted to Augusta Cremation & Funeral Care.
