Oscar Antonia Evans, born on June 30, 1973, in Augusta, Georgia, departed this life on November 4, 2025, in the same city that cradled his heart. A beloved member of his community, Oscar's legacy is one of joy, love, and happiness, traits he embodied throughout his life.
Oscar graduated from Hephzibah High School, marking the beginning of a journey that would lead him to a fulfilling career at Bolivia Lumber. His dedication and hard work culminated in retirement in 2024, where he would reflect on a lifetime of achievements, friendships, and cherished memories.
Known for his vibrant personality, Oscar had a profound love for music and an innate ability to connect with people. His life was richly woven with happiness, creating a tapestry of relationships with family and friends, all of whom felt the warmth of his spirit.
Oscar is survived by his sisters, Maggie (Jerry) Reddix, Rhonda (Willie) Hall, and Rosetta Evans, who will forever treasure their shared memories. His legacy continues through his many nieces and nephews: Jeremy Reddix, Quint Evans, Cierra Prince, Christopher Williams, Brittany Evans, Whitney Reddix, Tenesha Williams, Travitious Smith, and Chelsy Docher, as well as Justin Burden. He also shared a special bond with his best friend/sister, Latonya Durden.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Evans and Melrose Evans, whose love and guidance shaped him into the man he became.
His life will be celebrated with a visitation on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA 30901. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day, Friday, November 14, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, at the same location.
As we remember Oscar Antonia Evans, we honor a life well-lived—a life that brought together family, friends, and joy into every moment. His spirit will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who were touched by his love.
