Joyce Ann Patton, born May 10, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on January 18, 2026, in Warren, Michigan. She was a devoted mother, cherished friend, and beloved grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and strong connections with both her family and her friends.
Throughout her life, Joyce was best known for devoting herself to her son, Joel. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, filling their lives with joy and unforgettable memories. Joyce’s tight-knit circle of friends became an extension of her family, providing her with unwavering support and companionship. They shared in the delights of life and were pivotal in creating the beautiful, loving environment that Joyce so treasured.
Joyce was immensely proud of her family. She celebrated the marriage of her son Joel to Lisa, who she embraced as a daughter. The joy multiplied with the arrival of her two granddaughters, Madison and Jenna. In Joyce's eyes, they were "her heart," and she delighted in their growth, from watching them dance ballet, to playing with dolls and other moments of shared laughter during family gatherings. The family get-togethers hosted by Lisa during holidays and special events were times of joy for Joyce, where she felt her family’s love surrounding her.
In addition to her family bonds, Joyce found happiness in simple pleasures. She enjoyed her cherished moments out with friends at El Charro’s, relishing in the laughter over glasses of Sangria. Her spirit soared with every trip to sunny California and Florida, where she created yet more cherished memories.
Joyce was also a loving pet owner, and her cat Mya provided her comfort and companionship until Mya's passing on October 31, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Pat Altman, and her sisters, Linda and Debroah.
Joyce’s friends and family will gather this summer to celebrate her life, and a small church service that will be announced at a later date. During this remembrance, they will honor the warmth, love, and lessons she shared throughout her years. Joyce Ann Patton touched many lives, forging bonds that will remain cherished forever. Her legacy of love and kindness continues to flourish in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
