Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home & Crematory - SalinaJoyce Ann Porter, 70, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 15, 1955, in Washington, Kansas, to Isabel (Scheetz) and Walter Diederich, Joyce dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse and as a Healthcare Instructor at Salina Tech. Her compassion and commitment touched countless lives throughout her career.
Joyce is survived by her three sons: Jim Porter (Denise) of Marquette, Kansas; John Porter (Chelsea) of Hutchinson, Kansas; and Joe Porter of Salina, Kansas. She also leaves behind her sister, Marilyn Armenta (Alexander) of Salina, Kansas; and brother, John Diederich (Lisa) of Barnes, Kansas.
Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren—Dakota Graham (Zoie Siler), Dylan Graham (Audree), Ethan Porter (Lauren Lowe), Aiden Porter, Isabelle Porter, Christopher Porter, Emily Porter, Jackson Porter, Olivia Porter, and Gabriel Porter—and 4 great-grandchildren: Saylor Graham, Bryer Graham, Cory Porter, and Mayble Graham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Porter; parents, Walt and Isabel; her brother Charles Diederich, and her sister Janet Overbeck.
Joyce will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Joyce's wishes were to be cremated.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 21st, from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
Details regarding the interment of her ashes will be announced at a later date.
