Alta Porter Obituary
She was born November 7,1934: the daughter of the late Alex and Irene (Fankhauser) Hawkins.
She worked in Medical Records at OVMC, was a member of First Christian Church in McMechen and Order of the Eastern Star, Moundsville Chapter #86.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Porter.
Survivors include two sons, Frederick D. (Kim) Porter of Marysville, Ohio and Charles E. (Perri DeChristopher) Porter of Star City, WV; one daughter, Rena L. (Rodney) Carney of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Nicholas Carney, Sydney and Chase Porter, Hannah, Hayley and Shane Wilson.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave, Moundsville, WV, where funeral service will be Friday, December 12th at 11am with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating.
Order of The Eastern Star service will be held Thursday at 6pm.
Interment at Halcyon Hills following ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church – Disciples of Christ, 100 Cobun Ave, Morgantown, WV 26501 or First Christian Church, 30 Fourth St, McMechen, WV 26040.
