Joyce Ann Pruitt

Joyce Ann Wimmer Pruitt, age 85, of Nemours, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the home of her son in Hinton. 

Born on September 13, 1940 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Virginia Hager Wimmer. She had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County and was a member of the Midway United Methodist Church. She was a retired longtime cook for Mercer County Schools and was a member of the Bramwell Order of the Eastern Star. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Pruitt, Sr., and a grandson Ralston Starling Pruitt.

Survivors include her son, Kevin Pruitt of Hinton; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; a brother, William (Jean) Wimmer of Winston-Salem, NC; a sister, Bonnie (Kenneth) Goforth of Bluefield; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Wimmer of Bluefield, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Kevin Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Friends may call on Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
