Joyce A. Purucker

Joyce A. (Lozier) Purucker, 80, of Manor, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was born on April 1, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Jesse and Hilda (Buennemann) Lozier. Joyce worked as a library assistant for Penn Trafford School District. She had worked with various reading groups in Manor, Norwin, and Penn area libraries and attended special events sponsored by the various libraries. Joyce was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Forest Hills, where she enjoyed bible study, quilting, and making Braille bibles. She was involved in the Penn Township Seniors, where she went on their trips, Super Seniors, and Wacky Widows. Joyce enjoyed doing family genealogy research. Joyce is survived by her children, Peter L. (Carlye) Purucker of Irwin, PA, Christina R. (Kirk) Thomas of Irwin; sister, Arlene (the late Kenn) Popko; and sister-in-law, Linda Purucker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence B. Purucker; and her parents, Jesse and Hilda Lozier. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3343 Route 130, PO Box 465, Harrison City (724) 744-2721. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church, 400 Barclay Ave., (Forest Hills). Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery - Denmark Manor.
