Ms. Joyce Ann Carver Ray, age 70, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Ms. Ray was born in Rome, GA, on February 8, 1955, daughter of the late Paul Carver and the late Myrtle Carver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Russell Ray, Sr., a son, Gordon Russell Ray, Jr., and by a sister, Cynthia Darlene Carver Otting. Ms. Ray worked for many years with Galey & Lord where, alongside her daughter, she worked as a loom cleaner in the weaving room. She also worked as a CNA at various local nursing homes where she loved providing care to numerous patients. Ms. Ray's favorite job was working in the lunchroom at Pepperell Primary School where her love of children was seen by all she came in contact with. She was a feisty woman with a heart of gold and is now rejoicing the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.

Survivors include her 2 children, Melissa Parker (Billy), and David Ray, both of Rome; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Easterwood (Billy), Rome, Haley Parker (Ben Crawley), Rome, and Taylor Ray (Caleb Smidlkofer), Lindsay, TX; 6 great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Easterwood, Kayden Easterwood, Kyleigh Parker, Karleigh Easterwood, Harper Schmidlkofer, Berkleigh Parker, and another on the way; her brother, Larry Bell; nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
