Joyce Lorraine Robin

Joyce Lorraine Robin passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 80. She was the only child of Evelyn Eichenauer and Carl John Eichenauer, an electrical engineer and radar specialist at General Electric. She attended Boston University and Syracuse University, where she studied world cultures and child psychology. At SU, she earned her BA in anthropology. In the early 70's, she attended the Sorbonne in Paris, where she studied French literature. During this period, she posed as a model for several French boutiques, and met her partner, Jean-Claude Robin. For the remaining decades of her life, Joyce devoted her energy to being a loving mother and devoted daughter. She was an avid documentarian, writing short stories about her experiences in France. Her love of pop culture, fairy tales, and mythology were profound influences on her daughter. A devout Catholic, she supported charities, with a strong sense of empathy for those in need. Her large heart and childlike curiosity about life made her personality instantly engaging. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Robin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 16 at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Drive, Syracuse, NY 13219. Burial will in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt, NY.
