Joyce Rogers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Funeral Home LLC on Sep. 22, 2025.
Joyce Marie Rogers, 79, passed away on September 20, 2025. She was surrounded by love until her last breath.

Joyce was a force to be reckoned with. She had to be because life was not always kind to her. She was Mama to 4 daughters, plus countless other adopted children. She was Nana to 12 grandkids plus countless other adopted grandkids. She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. She was the best florist in Blount County for decades. She was a literal real life rockstar in her younger days. She made the best pancakes in the world. She loved music. She loved to sing, and she always had a song to fit into any conversation. She loved dirty jokes. She loved guys with cute butts. She loved books and tv crime dramas. She loved the color yellow, lemon flavored everything, sunflowers, and butterflies. She loved cats. She loved her dog and constant companion, Thor. She loved God. She loved junk food, cigarettes, coffee, naps, and not exercising, yet somehow in spite of herself, she lived for 79 long years.

Joyce was welcomed home by her parents, Elzie Andies and William Goins, brother Billy Goins, daughter Sandra Lindsey, great granddaughter Zyliyah Irvin, and best friend Toni Jo Peels.

Left behind to carry on her memory are her daughters, whom she loved beyond all measure: Pam (Gene) Owens, Donessa Irvin, and Tiffany (Josh) Bradley. Her grandchildren, whom she secretly loved more than her own kids (she never would confirm or deny): Zac Moore, Gena (Ashley) Newsome, Jasmine Irvin, Brittany (Nick) Parrott, Grace Irvin, Olivia, Lincoln, and Mila Bradley. Her great grandbabies, whom she actually loved the most: Penelope, Azyiyah, and Willow. Brothers: Eddie Goins, Denny Goins, and Michael Andies. Sister: Janet Nichols. Several nieces and nephews. Beloved dog and tiny bodyguard: Thor.
