Bridget Young Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Funeral Home LLC on Feb. 17, 2026.
Bridget Renee Young, of Blount County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 58. She was born on December 6, 1967, in Hammond, Indiana, but moved to Tennessee in the 90's and never looked back. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and throughout her life carried a spirit that was as vibrant as it was loving. Renee was known for her fun-loving personality, generous heart, and unmistakable fire. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and gave freely of herself to anyone who needed comfort, laughter, or a helping hand. Though she possessed a fiery soul, it was always guided by compassion, loyalty, and a fierce devotion to the people she loved most. Family was the center of Renee's world. She cherished time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends, creating memories filled with laughter, storytelling, and warmth. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, and many who were not related by blood were lovingly claimed as family by her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte and Bob Squires, and Eugene Morris; her siblings Charlena Irwin Torres, Tim Irwin, Danny Irwin, Robert Irwin, Eugene Morris Jr, Anita Morris Bouner, & Robin Squires Fleeger; and her bonus son, Jake Young, whom she carried forever in her heart. Renee is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Young; her children Kellie Morris(Patrick), Derrick Morris, Terra Houser and bonus children Brandy Paige(Randall) and Josh Young(Ashley); her cherished grandchildren, Lexi Morris, Addison Thomas, Austin Brown, Emma Houser, Jordan Young, Hailey Mills, Kaylie Young, Bentley Orr, Tyler Thomas, Jaycee Boring, Harlen Galyon, and Layla Sellers; her siblings Jeff Irwin, Robby Irwin, Julie Knight, Debi Smiley, Teri Ortiz, and sister-in-law Bonnie Irwin; mother-in-law Betty Young; special friends and caregivers Brenda Dockery, Tammy Milsaps, Mindy Cagle, Shannon Mancini, Jasmine Satterfield, Jennifer Breeden, Lynn Emswiler, Jaclyn and Chris Baker, Glenn and Andrea Breeden, Deb Johnson, Bobbi Bullock, Joyce Sparks, and special hospice nurse Julia; and her Cami girl. Renee will be remembered as a wonderful wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, a loyal friend, and a woman whose laughter and strength left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever celebrated.
