Joyce Marie Scardina

DUBLIN - Joyce (Culwell) Scardina, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her Dublin, Ohio, home on September 23, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends. She was 74 years old. Joyce was born on February 6, 1951, at Whitecross Hospital in Columbus, Ohio (now Riverside Methodist Hospital). As a lifelong resident of the Columbus area, Joyce was known for her loving nature as a mother, wife, and for her kindness and generous spirit. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. Joyce found great success selling Avon products for 35 years. For two decades, she was one of the top five sales representatives in Ohio, and she received the President's Award for 25 years. Her dedication and passion for her work were evident to all who knew her. Beyond her professional achievements, Joyce's generous spirit extended to others. From 1988 to 1993, she was a surrogate mother to Japanese foreign exchange students. She was also a Reiki master, dedicating her time and energy to helping others find peace and healing. An avid lover of the sea, Joyce spent many hours collecting seashells, finding immense joy in the ocean's treasures. Joyce is survived by her loving family, John, her husband of 54 years; her sons, Jason (Heather) and Joe; her grandchildren, Francis (Frank), Alaina, and Jillian; and her sisters, Shelby (Wayne) Headlee and Doris (Jack) Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lena Culwell, and her sister, Carol. Visitation will be held at Rutherford Funeral Home, 450 W Olentangy St, Powell, OH 43065, on Sunday October 5, 2025, from 2-5 p.m. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc, 10700 Liberty Rd S, Powell, OH 43065, on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. Following the mass, Interment is at St Joseph's Cemetery, 6440 S High St, Lockbourne, OH 43137. A luncheon will follow the interment at St Joan of Arc . In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joyce's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Cozy Cat Cottage, Powell, OH.
