Clarence Robert (Bob) Thompson February 13, 1930 – November 13, 2025

Clarence Robert Thompson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on February 13, 1930, Clarence was the son of Esta and Clarence Thompson. He grew up in a loving family alongside his sisters Clarine, Hazel, Ruby, and Rose Mary, and his brothers Leonard and Jack.

Clarence proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He enlisted on November 30, 1950, and was honorably discharged on November 28, 1954. During his service, Clarence worked as a radar mechanic in several bomb squadrons and was stationed in Japan and Korea. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal in recognition of his dedication and honorable service.

After his military service, Clarence devoted his life to his family and enjoyed many passions. Clarence shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Margarette. Together, they raised three children: daughters Michelle and Karen, and son Steven, who were the pride and joy of his life. He was also a cherished grandfather to Steven and his wife Cathie's children Emily and Evan, whose lives were deeply enriched by his love and wisdom.

He loved gardening, motorcycling, woodworking, and most of all, spending time with his loved ones. His hands built, nurtured, and created, and his heart was always with his family. Clarence was always willing to help someone in need yet rarely asked for help himself-a true example of humility and strength.

He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his kindness, and his gentle spirit. Clarence leaves behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and strength will continue through his family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Friday, November 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Rutherford Funeral Home at 450 W. Olentangy Street, Powell, OH. A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 22 at 11:00 am at Fairmount Cemetery in Waynesfield, Ohio.
