Schwabe, Joyce D. (nee Belot), 100, of Ellisville, MO, formerly of Milwaukee, WI, Libertyville, IL, and Caramel, In, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27th, 2025.  

Joyce was born on January 9th, 1925, in Milwaukee, WI to Anthony and Apalonia Belot, and stepdaughter of Raymond Mitten. On August 20th, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert V. Schwabe. They shared more than 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2010Joyce attended Marquette University, where she met her spouse, Robert Schwabe. During WWII, she worked as a government inspector for canteens, mess kits and five-gallon water containers produced in Wisconsin, traveling throughout the Midwest at a young age. After raising her family, she worked at Zee Medical Supply Company located in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Her family and Catholic faith were always her highest priorities. Joyce lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Libertyville, Illinois, Carmel, Indiana and later Ellisville, MissouriBeloved wife of the late Robert V. Schwabe. Dear mother of Cheryl L. (John) Johnson, David J. (Barbara) Schwab and the late Robert B. (Maribeth) Schwabe. Loving grandmother of Jennifer (Michael) Backer, Molly Johnson, Megan (Mark) DeMint, Ryan (Alexandra) Schwabe, Erin (Thomas) Selden, Kayleigh (Greg) Karlovits, and Tucker, Taylor and Lindsey Schwab. Dear great-grandmother of Benjamin, Madison and Lilly Backer, Allison Olivia and Emma DeMint, Dominick and Danielle Schwabe, and Zoey, Nora and the late Zachary Selden. Sister of the late Constance Prahl and the late Marilyn Costa. Sister-in-law of Beverly Schwabe. Dear aunt, cousin and friend of many.Joyce’s greatest legacy is the family she cherished so deeply - her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.  Joyce had a remarkable gift for exuding warmth, kindness and compassion to everyone she encountered.  She shared laughter and love freely, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Services: Funeral Mass at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cary, IL on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, IL.
