Joyce Carolyne "Langston" Seale

Joyce Carolyne (Langston) Seale, 96, of Deming, New Mexico, peacefully entered eternity surrounded by family and joined her heavenly father on January 22, 2026.

Born in Palestine, Texas on August 6, 1929, to Jonathan Coy Langston and Exa Pearl Langston. Joyce grew up in Palestine and graduated from Baylor University where she met the love of her life, Edwin Allen Seale to whom she was married to for 68 years. Joyce attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where she received a master's degree in religious education. Joyce taught elementary school several years, but her greatest joy was in being a pastor's wife. As a pastor's wife she enjoyed teaching a women's SS Class, doing "chalk talks" during Ed's sermons, starting church libraries and singing in the choir. Joyce's favorite activities included teaching, painting, reading, bible study, traveling, gardening, sewing, bird watching, and playing the piano.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ed. She is survived by two children, Carol Seale Derden (Preston Lynn Derden) and Edwin Mark Seale (Becky Bass Seale); grandchildren, Jonathan Lynn Derden, Carolyn Ann Derden, Alexandra Lee Praytor, and Connor Mark Seale; great-grandchildren, Madalyn Michelle Derden, David Lynn Derden, and Drew Naomi Praytor; as well as many nieces and nephews.
