Mooreville—Joyce Evonne White Smith passed away at her home on Saturday, July 12, 2025 after a brief illness. She was 81 years old. Joyce was born in Lee County on November 1, 1943, the daughter of Leoma Gray. She worked as a seamstress for many years. A woman of deep abiding faith, Joyce was a faithful member of Boguefala Baptist Church. She was dedicated to her family and cherished time spent with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joyce leaves behind two daughters, Karen Williams (Mike) of Mooreville and Lisa Smith of Saltillo; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leoma Gray; two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Boguefala Baptist Church.
Services celebrating Joyce’s memory will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Boguefala Baptist Church with Bro. David Perry officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ed Tedford, Bud Cook, Sonny Noble, Robert Spees, Braxton Spees, and David Knight.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Sheffield and Hunter Smith.
