Joyce F. Smith

Joyce F. Burns Smith, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Laughlin Heathcare while surrounded by loved ones. She confessed salvation at a young age at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bud" Smith; daughter, Loretta "Snookie" McCracken; son-in-law, Jeff Smith; parents, Luther and Bessie Burns; sisters, Helen (Ronnie) Morelock, Kathy Heck, Brenda Cooter; brothers, JC (Geneva) Burns and Kelly Burns.

She is survived by her children; daughters, Darlene Smith, Trish (Gary) Shaw, Lisa (Mike) Luster; son, Tim (Judy) Smith; son-in-law, Tim McCracken; grandchildren, Steve (Ruby) Smith, Ashley (Nick) Lawson, Megan (Stephen) Adams, Casey Smith, Caleb (Tori) Smith, Cody (Haley) Smith, Audrey Smith, and Kaite Luster; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Pete (Linda) Burns and Vernon (Sue) Burns; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Laughlin Healthcare and Gentiva Hospice for the loving and compassionate care.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday, March 18th at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral ceremony will begin at 7pm with Rev. Norman Sauceman officiating. Burial will take place at 11am on Thursday, March 19th at Providence County Line Cemetery. If you wish to follow in procession, please meet at Christian-Sells Funeral Home by 10am.
