Roy Garrison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Christian Sells Funeral Home on Mar. 13, 2026.
Roy Lee Garrison, age 69, of Rogersville, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2026. He was born on August 28, 1956, in Waynesville, North Carolina, and was the son of the late Charles Sr. and Wanda Garrison.

Roy was a man of eclectic interests and an effervescent personality who always put his faith in God first. He was a member of Ebbing and Flowing Spring Church of Rogersville. Roy had a passion for helping others and spent his career pursuing technological advances to protect and enhance environmental causes. Throughout his professional life, Roy published 10 patents and facilitated the building of many industrial facilities. Roy had a natural aptitude for music and found joy playing piano and violin. He was blessed with the talent to write worship lyrics and used his gifts to serve God through worship ministry. Fast automobiles were a fixture throughout his entire life. Whether it be a drag strip, dirt track, or superspeedway, Roy was always ready to watch racing.

Roy is survived by his daughter, Rachel (David); sister, Joan (Monte); God-daughter, Ashley; and grandchildren, David, Michael, Aurora, and Hudson; as well as many extended family members and friends who all love and will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Roy on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Faith Assembly Church in Rogersville. The family will receive friends from 2pm-3pm with the service beginning at 3pm.
