Joyce Della Spencer, age 66, of Caro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 6, 1959, in Ionia, Michigan, the daughter of the late James and Evelyn (Spencer) Kirby. Joyce was a high school graduate who devoted many years to the workforce, including employment at Marlex Manufacturing, local Thumb-area pickle farms, Mold Masters, and Walbro Manufacturing, before retiring.
In her free time, Joyce found joy in crocheting, watching paranormal movies, and trying her luck with scratch-off lottery tickets. Above all else, her grandchildren were the center of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, taking walks around the neighborhood, sharing laughter, and ensuring they were always cared for and never went without. Joyce was truly the glue that held her family together. She will be forever remembered for her loving warmth, compassionate heart, and sweet, gentle smile.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Evelyn Spencer and Kirk Spencer; son-in-law, Preston Berry; grandchildren, Eli, Shylynn, Starlynn, and Sophia; sister, Cheryl (Phil) Wright; one aunt, one uncle, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, James and Evelyn, Joyce was preceded in death by Grandpa and Grandma Spencer; sister, Brenda Morris; brothers, Eugene Kirby and Baby Jimmy Kirby; nephew, James Morris; grandson, Prayton Berry; several aunts and uncles.
Joyce’s funeral service will be on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ransford Funeral Home in Caro. Rev. Rich Evans will officiate with the burial following at Indianfields Twp. Cemetery.
