Mrs. Joyce Scott Toler, age 71, beloved wife of Kenneth Wayne Toler of Dublin passed away at their home on Thursday morning, November 20, 2025.

Delivered by a midwife at home in Soperton, she was the fourth of five children born to the late James Roy Scott and Zelma Ree Beasley Scott. She grew up in Treutlen Conty where she was a graduate of Treutlen High School, Class of 1972. In 1973, she married Treutlen County native, Kenneth Wayne Toler. The newlyweds settled in Laurens County where they have remained. In 1977 they purchased Zeigler Paint Contractors Inc. where her husband had already been working for a number of years. During the mid 1980s she attended Macon State College in pursuit of a nursing degree. During this time she also worked as a volunteer at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Realizing the need for his wife's help in their growing family business, Mrs. Toler joined her husband, at Zeigler Paint Contractors, where for the next forty five years they worked side by side creating a highly successful and respected business that served areas far beyond the boundaries of Laurens County. The business continues today under the daily leadership of her husband.

As a child, Mrs. Toler grew up in the Holiness Church and later in life, she attended and played the piano at Norristown Revival Center.

She enjoyed pond fishing and even within the last few years, she still enjoyed wrestling one up on shore, with the help of her husband.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Hattie Scott , her maternal grandparents, John and Frankie Beasley, brothers, Johnny Roy Scott (June), Jimmy Scott, a nephew, Steven Roy Scott and a niece, Janene Stevens.

Mrs. Toler leaves behind, her husband of fifty-one years, Kenneth Wayne Toler Sr., Dublin, GA, their son, Kenneth Wayne "Kenny Wayne" Toler Jr., (Wendy), Dublin, GA, their daughter, Meagan Toler (Brandi), Dublin, GA, sisters, Joanne Scott McGhee (Mitchell), Arab, AL, V. Jean Scott, Soperton, GA, her canine companion, Charlie, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from the graveside in Hutcheson Cemetery with Pastor Gilbert Posey officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be the employees of Zeigler Paint Contractors and are asked to assemble at Sammons Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Sunday.

Her family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Saturday at Sammons Funeral Home or friends and family may call at the family residence.

The family will assemble, on Sunday, at Sammons Funeral Home. The procession will depart at 1:40 pm enroute to the gravesite.
