Joyce Toms

Joyce Ann (Ball) Toms, age 61, of Belington, WV., departed this life on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Vandalia Health Mon General Hospital, Morgantown, WV., with her beloved family by her side. She had been battling cancer for the last couple of years. Joyce was a cherished member of her community and a beloved wife, mother, nana, and sister, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.

She was born into this life on March 31, 1964, in Elkins, WV., a daughter to the late Bobby Joe Ball, and Gladys Bonitta (Shreve) Ball.

On September 6, 1981, Joyce joined hands in marriage to Norman Wayne Toms who survives at their home in Belington.

Joyce leaves behind her two daughters; Brandy Mayle, and husband Matthew of Benson, NC., Brittainny Toms of Belington, son; Norman Robbie Toms, and his girlfriend, Kaitlynn Bolyard of Belington, grandchildren; Koby Mayle, and Tyson Mayle of Benson, NC., and Norah Grace Toms of Belington, sister; Charlotte Parise Bradley, and husband Shane of Huttonsville, WV., niece; Shelly Shreve-Martin, nephew; Timothy Gear.

She was preceded in death by one brother; Ricky Lane Shreve, one sister; Charlene Denise Ball.

Joyce was a devoted mother raising her children while her husband drove tractor and trailer. She loved doing yardwork, mowing the grass, gardening. She loved to can her garden goods for the family to enjoy, and she loved to cook and bake, leaving nobody hungry. Joyce touched the hearts of many with her warm spirit and generous nature. She was a steadfast presence in the lives of her family and friends, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear. Her gentle laughter and caring demeanor will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. In honoring Joyce's wishes her remains will be cremated. A gathering of family and friends will take place to celebrate her life on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5pm until 7pm the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
