Born: August 3, 1936 in Dixon, IL
Died: January 19, 2026 in Dixon, IL
Joyce J. Wohrley age 89 of Dixon died Monday January 19, 2026 at Heritage Square in Dixon. She was born Aug. 3, 1936 in Dixon the daughter of Charles and Justine (Weed) Stanley. Joyce was a graduate of the Swedish American Hospital School of Nursing and worked at Swedish American Hospital, KSB Hospital, Dr. Stitzel's medical office and then the Lee County Health Dept. for 18 years prior to retirement. She enjoyed the annual alumni banquet of the Swedish American School of Nursing.
Joyce married John W Wohrley April 4, 1964 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Kenneth Stanley and two sisters Mary Banks and Charlene Ruppert.
Joyce is survived by her husband John, three sons Andrew Wohrley of Auburn, AL, William "Bill" Wohrley of Byron, and Peter Wohrley of Rockford.
A memorial service will be on Saturday January 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
Memorials have been established to the Immanuel Lutheran Church and to In-Home Care Connection and Hospice. Arrangements by the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Online condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com
