Joyce Elaine Woll passed away peacefully on October 9,2024 at her home in Marietta, GA. She was born on April 29th, 1953 to Lou and Donna (Fox) Bright in Pekin Illinois. Joyce was the youngest daughter in a family of six children. She was fiercely protective of her family and those whom she loved. She continues to be loved and adored by her family and will be greatly missed.
Her good nature was evident by anyone who met her. She gave the most of herself to her husband and children. As a wife and mother for over fifty years, she was a caregiver, accountant, confidant, chef, advocate, consoler, problem-solver, and so much more. She loved good music, cold beer, a good laugh, and a good game. Joyce and her husband loved to go to concerts for music like REO Speedwagon, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, and more. Her husband of nearly 38 years would always request local bands to play her favorite, “Freebird,” and she would gladly sing along. There were many fishing trips, cruises with her sisters, long-distance family trips, museums, and Miller beers in her 71 years of life.
Her silliness and fun-loving nature were on full display whether she was beating her youngest son in rounds of Yahtzee or watching two of her sons dance crazily to pop music in the living room. To make her laugh was a thing of pure joy. We can imagine her now laughing with all the family members who cleared her way to Heaven.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lou Bright, sister(s) Catherine Bright, and Lynne Courtway, and her brother, James Bright.
She is survived by her mother, Donna; her husband, Alan; sister, Diana Cox; her brother, Mark Bright; her sons Charles, Christopher, and Matthew, and her stepdaughter, Jaime. We love you, Mom!
