JR Mears Obituary

Visit the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home - Mountain Grove website to view the full obituary.

Ronald Eugene Mears Jr, son of Ronald and Sandra (Schofield) Mears, was born July 20, 1974, and departed this life suddenly on March 28, 2026. He was 51 years, 8 months, and 8 days of age.

Ronald “JR” was united in marriage to Denise Kay Wright on September 9, 2017.

JR had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found camping or fishing, enjoying the peace it brought him. He also loved playing poker and sharing laughs with friends. Above all, he cherished time with his grandchildren, proudly attending their activities and creating meaningful memories. He had a passion for tattooing and found the greatest happiness in being surrounded by his family and his beloved fur babies. There was never a dull moment when he was around, and he took great pride in making sure everyone he loved was always taken care of and happy.

JR was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Mears; his sister, Debra Blacketer; and several other family members that he loved dearly.

JR is survived by his wife, Denise Mears of their home in Mountain Grove; his mother, Sandra Schofield of Mountain Grove; two sons and three daughters, Steven Sparbel and his wife, Rhonda, of Mountain Grove, Whitney Maggard of Gainsville, Cody Carder and his wife, Rachelle, of West Plains, Destiny Mears of Milledgeville, Georgia, and Autumn Carder and her boyfriend, Jordon, of Saint Peters; two sister, Dawn Johnson and her husband, Donald, of Marion, North Carolina and Jamie O’Neill and her fiancé, Robert, of Sailsbury, Missouri; three grandchildren, Declan, Finley, and Archer; one uncle, Jerry Waggle and his wife, Paulette, of Mountain Grove; and several other family members that he loved deeply.

JR was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, and great friend that was greatly loved and will be missed by family and friends.
