Juan Creo Obituary

Juan M. Creo

Waite Park - Juan Creo, age 75, passed away at his home in Waite Park, MN, on Saturday, January 29, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 4 at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud with Rev. Tom Knoblach officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM at the church prior to the Mass with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Juan Manuel Creo, known more simply as John Creo by many friends and family, was born on May 21, 1945 in Noya, Spain to Jose and Pilar (Rodriguez) Creo. Juan spent his early school years in Spain. In his late teens he worked on commercial ships, mostly Scandanavian ships, traveling the world enjoying his work, the culture and foods of so many countries. Eventually he settled in the United States where he has lived the majority of his life. Juan worked most of his career in the trades, a proud member of the Carpenters Union. He had a strong work ethic, took pride in his work and was a valued employee.

On January 5, 1974, Juan was united in marriage with Anne Terrahe. They spent the first 30 years of their lives together living in Minneapolis. Upon retirement they moved to Florida where they resided for 14 years before returning to Minnesota. They recently celebrated 47 years of marriage, so grateful for all those years together.

Juan was a Naturalized US citizen. He was very proud to be an American and to hold a US passport. He never missed voting in an election, finding it an obligation and such a privilege.

Juan was an avid bicyclist, riding every day after work and many hours on weekends. He was a member of the Flanders Bros. Cycling Club and enjoyed the camaraderie of his teammates. In Florida, he loved riding in the sunshine and heat spending hours on the bike. When he gave up riding outside on the road, he continued riding a stationary bike indoors. Juan also loved his morning newspapers, the SC Times, Star Tribune and the Orlando Sentinel when in Florida. He read them from front to back every day.

Juan is survived by his wife, Anne of Waite Park, MN; daughter, Samantha (Sergio) Creo Moreira of Nacogdoches, TX; sister, Pilar Bugallo of LaCoruna, Spain; nieces Pilar, Flor and nephew Luis.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Benito Creo and grandson Bernardo Creo Moreira.

Special thanks to St. Croix Hospice especially Caitlin, Care Coordinator, Hospice Nurse Liz and Hospice aide Liz. Thanks also to Sam Behrend all who provided comfort and care to Juan and his family. Father Tom, of St. Joseph's Church in Waite Park, who anointed Juan and both he and the Hospice Chaplain, Steve, who gave blessings and prayers.
