Juan Reyna Escobedo

Juan Reyna Escobedo, age 100 entered rest on Tuesday, January 28,2025, in Del Rio, Texas surrounded by family and friends. He was well known throughout his community as El Gallo Escobedo. He recently celebrated his Centennial Birthday, talking about his lifelong stories of life, laughter and love endured during his life. He was surrounded by his family and friends that helped celebrate this life achieving milestone. His legacy will live on through his 5 generations with his concept of what he should leave behind "It isn't what you leave behind, but what you leave in people's hearts is what matters".
He is preceded in death by his wife of over 75years, Maria Aguilar Escobedo. He is survived by son, Julian Escobedo (Monica), Oswaldo A. Escobedo, and Francisco Escobedo (Norma). He is also survived by his daughters, Juana A. Garcia, and Celia Donez, along with numerous family members.
The visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; the recitation of the holy rosary at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
The mass of christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Gentlemen with the Honor of Pallbearers: Francisco Garcia, Jose Oswaldo Escobedo, Luis A. Escobedo, Jose A. Donez, Mark A. Donez and Matthew N. Stansbury; Honorary pallbearers: Linda Jeanette Rodriguez, Claudia Alicia Maldonado, Mayra Alejandra Arranaga, and Candy Escobedo.
The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
