Juanita Elizabeth Kowing, 97, of Dumas, died on Sept. 4, 2025. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Highland Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Juanita was born on September 21, 1927 in Winfield, Kansas to Clarence and Mary Elizabeth Atkinson. She grew up in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School. She worked as an operator for over 35 years for Southwestern Bell. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with family. She was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Kowing and her daughter-in-law, Linda Sue Kowing.
She is survived by her three sons, Charles Gregory Kowing of Dumas, David Alden Kowing and wife Cheryl of Arvada, Colorado, and Douglas Edward Kowing and wife Millie of Dumas; a sister, Sudie Mayes of Recklaw, Tx.; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren
