Juanita McLain Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wade Funeral Home - Hubbard on Dec. 14, 2025.
Juanita Ann McLain, 79, went peacefully into the arms of our Lord on December 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Known to her family and friends as "Nita", she was born in Hubbard, Texas on March 15, 1946 to Charles and Mildred McLain.

She was a proud graduate of Baylor University where she earned a degree in teaching. Nita spent many years as a bus driver for Hubbard ISD and created countless amazing memories with all of "her kids." She was a strong Christian woman and her faith lasted right up until the end with her singing old gospel hymns by heart. Her heart was full of a loving and giving spirit and some of the most fun times in her life were spent on the praise and worship team at the First Church of God here in Hubbard.

Nita was a lifelong resident of Hubbard, where she grew up with her sisters and brother in a different time, when things were slower and people were kinder. She loved her family with her whole heart and nothing made her happier and more proud than her children and being Nana to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sisters, Vista Berger, Nonie Townsend and Brenda Bethke and husband, Jimmie; her daughter, Bonnie Barak and husband, Jeff; son, Martin Hunt and wife, Amy; nieces and nephews, Dianna, Melissa, Felicia, Misty and Chas and her grandchildren, Dalton, Trenton, Kendyl (aka My Angel), Carissa, Michael and Charlotte.

Nita was preceded in death by her Momma and Daddy; her brother, Ralph Taylor and nephew, Brandon Bury.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hubbard, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to assist with funeral expenses and may be made directly to Wade Funeral Home, 201 NW 3rd Street (P.O. Box 427) Hubbard, Texas 76648.
