Juanita Mae (Miller) Ruehs was born October 18, 1938, the daughter of Edward & Leora Miller. She attended Dundee High School, then received her diploma through Monroe Community College.
Juanita married her high school sweetheart, Charles Ruehs Sr. on September 4, 1955, and shared 68 years together prior to his passing in July of 2024. They raised their children, Henry (Connie) of Petersburg, Diane of Dundee and Charles Jr. (Carol) of Dundee in their home of over 65 years, where she passed peacefully with her family and the care of Elara Caring Hospice.
She started working at Monroe County Bank as a teller and through her 30 plus years, ending her career as Assistant Manager. After retirement, her and Chuck enjoyed spending time at their home in Mio, Michigan; spending time there with friends and their family. Of course, stopping in Standish, Michigan first to gamble on the way. Juanita enjoyed working with Rollo Juckette Auctioneer, being a clerk, as well as accumulating all types of treasures they displayed in their party barn. You could also find Juanita at the Monroe County Fair for over ten years, working from sunup to sundown at the front merchant's gate where she developed many friendships over the years.
Juanita was a member of West Ida Immanual Lutheran Church for 70 years. She taught Sunday School and held the position of Treasurer over the years. She enjoyed spending time at the Dundee Senior Citizen Center, where she was a member, playing euchre on Tuesdays and participating in casino and bus trips. She was known for her famous "Juanita Bread". Baking large quantities bi-weekly, then sharing her sweetness with locals who looked forward to Chucks deliveries.
Juanita passed peacefully in her home on September 3, 2025. Besides her three children, she leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and expecting 3 more. She also leaves her sister, Alice Harris of Monroe, and brother, Lynn Miller of Dundee. Preceding her in life, besides her husband Chuck, her parents, and sisters Evelyn Phillips and Eileen Gilbert.

Yesterday

Larry and I are so sorry to hear of Juanita's passing. We enjoyed several Weilnau Family reunions in their party barn. Chuck and Juanita were always such welcoming hosts. Our deepest sympathy to their family and friends.
