The family of Juanito "Johnny" DeOcampo sadly announces his passing on September 22, 2025. Juanito, born in Malabon, Rizal, Philippines on December 23, 1939, was a loving, supportive, and funny man who lived his life with a spirited enthusiasm that was infectious to all who knew him. He brought joy and laughter into the lives of many with his quick wit and light-hearted humor. He was a devoted husband, caring father, and doting grandfather who considered his family as the most cherished part of his life.

Juanito lived a rich and full life, both personally and professionally. He was incredibly proud of his 20-year voluntary service in the United States Air Force, with his most cherished assignment being with the 6594th Test Group in Hawaii, nicknamed "Catching a Falling Star". In this role, they would catch returning satellites from outer space in a C-130 aircraft. After retiring from the Air Force, he enjoyed a successful career at Boeing in Seattle, Washington as a Flight Testing Technician. Upon his retirement in 1987, he spent his days indulging in his hobbies. He was a passionate golfer and cherished the time spent with his golf buddies in Lynnwood. Yet, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandkids, JJ and Jordin, sharing ice cream and donuts, and filling their lives with love and laughter.

Juanito was a devout Catholic who lived his faith every day. He found solace and strength in the scripture, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13), which guided him throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will continue to inspire his survivors: his loving wife of 56 years, Yong-Suk DeOcampo, his proud sons Jesse and Jeff DeOcampo (Elita), and his adored grandkids, JJ and Jordin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic DeOcampo and Maria Mungcal.

A Mass in celebration of Juanito's life will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10:30 am at Saint Thomas More Parish, 6511 176th Street Southwest, Lynnwood, Washington, 98037. As we remember Juanito and his remarkable life, we encourage everyone to share their memories, stories, and photographs on his memorial page. These shared moments will serve as a testament to the incredible life Juanito lived, and the profound impact he had on those who were fortunate enough to know him.
