Judie R. Barron, age 81, of Roosevelt, passed away on December 29, 2024 at her home.
Judith Richie Seewer was born to Richard and Alberta Seewer on November 9, 1943 in Montpelier, Idaho. As a small child she moved with her parents and siblings Ronald (Judy), Carla Tester (Paul), and Richard (Rebecca) to Utah where she lived for the remainder of her life.
She was a happy, gleeful child, and remained that way her entire adult life. Judie graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City and had a lifelong pride in her almamater. She attended The University of Utah before having a career as a clerical worker and mother of four children. Later in life Judie worked with The Chamber of Commerce, Duchesne County School District, and was a manager for the Senior Center, among many other various roles within her community.
Judie and her long-time companion Frank Smith purchased a home in Roosevelt, Utah where she resided for many years and was able to pass away peacefully and comfortably among family and friends. Judie was able to obtain her last rites from her beloved Catholic Church prior to her passing.
Judie is survived by her long-time companion, Frank Smith, her children, Richard Bowen and Tori Smith (Patrick King), 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, plus all the additional children she chose to love as her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, and two of her children Rudy and Tanya.
To know Judie was to love her. Judie endured many hardships within her life but remained open hearted, cheerful, and had a bright smile for everyone. She always had a special love for all children and was referred to as “Grandma Judie” by many within the community.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Helen’s Catholic Church. A viewing will be held on Friday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. A rosary will be at 4:30
Following the services she will be cremated.
