It is a sorrowful day when a beautiful limb has fallen from our family tree. In the morning of February 20, 2025, Judith Mae Amidon (Brodt) passed away, at the age of 85, from the devastating disease of Alzheimer's at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation in Madison Alabama. She was such a beautiful, happy, and caring soul who would go out of her way to be helpful to her family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
Judy was born January 21, 1940 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to David Brodt and Mabel Brodt (Kennedy). She grew up and became an Army wife to her ex-husband Bert Amidon and had two children. She later became a receptionist for the community of Lake of the Woods in Locust Grove Virginia and worked for and retired from Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg Virginia.
Judy was preceded in death by her father David Brodt, her sister Ellen Blum (Brodt), her mother Mabel Klitsch (Kennedy), her step-father Robert Klitsch, and her beloved dog Toby. She is survived by her two children, son Michael Amidon with wife (Kelly Amidon), and daughter Kelly Lancaster (Amidon) with husband (David Lancaster) along with her grandchildren Rhiannon Boone (Amidon) (with husband Donte Boone), Lindsey Lancaster and Macy Lancaster. She was blessed with two great-grandchildren Avanni and Amari Boone. She was also lucky to be loved by some very special friends, neighbors and co-workers.
Her wishes were to be cremated without a memorial service. If you would like to honor Judith, in lieu of sending flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in loving memory of Judith Amidon. Maybe one day, in the near future, a cure can be found. Her family prays that the future holds hope no other person will live with and die from this degenerative brain disease.

Judy will be missed by all those who knew her. I had the honor of working with Judy at Germanna Community College. She was always a very positive and fun person to be around. My prayers are with the family she left behind. I know she would want you to continue the good memories and to rejoice in the life she shared with us. God Bless!
