Judith Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lowery - Urban Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. on Feb. 24, 2026.
Our beloved mother, Judy Ann French Anderson, passed away on February 21, 2026 after a brief illness. Judy was 87 years old.

Judy lived on her family dairy farm in East Smithfield with her parents Marion and Purl French and her two young brothers Dean and Harry. Judy learned how to drive a tractor at 4 years old and helped her dad on the farm and delivered milk by herself on her bicycle to East Smithfield residents.

Judy graduated from East Smithfield High School. Judy was athletic and her family rode horses with neighbors and enjoyed competing in barrel racing. While Judy was employed at Ingersoll Rand she met her future husband, Bob Anderson. Together they raised 2 children, Audrey and Wayne and built their own house in East Smithfield and resided there for 66 years.

Judy also worked at the Valley Stockyards as a Secretary and at the Bradford County Court House in the probation office as a bookkeeper until retirement.

Judy loved her grandchildren and went to every school activity and sporting event. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.

We would like to thank East Smithfield Fire Company and EMS, Dr. Sheila Prabhu, Guthrie and Robert Packer Hospital ICU Unit, nurses and caregivers.

A private funeral will be arranged. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the East Smithfield Fire Company EMS, 24 Village Green Way, East Smithfield, PA 18817.
