Judith "Judy" Ann Ricketts Burland, age 90, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Broomfield, CO. Judy loved cats, chocolate, puzzles, and reading. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, doting grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born in Detroit, MI, Judy earned a teaching degree from Michigan State University, taught elementary school for several years then settled in West Bloomfield, MI with husband, Carl, to raise a family. She later moved to Hendersonville, NC, Westminster, CO, and Denver, CO to be close to family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Thelma Guire Ricketts. She is survived by her devoted husband, Carlyle Gray Burland Jr.; her sister, Nona Sellers; her brother, Gerald Ricketts; her children, Julie [Paul] Koehler, Carrie [John] Rupkey, and Craig [Andrea] Burland; and her grandchildren, Henry, Grant, Lily, and Gemma Koehler; Miranda Rupkey; and Madeleine, Nickolas, and Genny Burland.
There are no services planned at this time.
