Obituary of Judith Canfield
Judy Canfield, age 85, passed away December 22, 2023, in Olympia, Washington. She was born December 15, 1938, to Richard and Lena Dingman in Binghamton, New York.
Through the years, Judy resided in Binghamton, New York (1938-1968); Van Nuys, California (1968-1970); Fountain Valley, California (1970-1976); Laguna Hills, California (1976-1978); Anchorage, Alaska (1978-1981); Lake Oswego, Oregon (1981-1984); Lake Tahoe, Nevada (Incline Village, 1984-1991 and Stateline 1991-2004); Ocean Shores, Washington (2004-2012); Brookings-Harbor, Oregon (2012-2021); and Offutt Lake, Washington (2021-2023).
Judy graduated from Binghamton North High School in 1957 and attended a year at Cortland State Teachers College. She married Tom Canfield on December 12, 1969, in La Habra Heights,
California. Professionally, she worked as a secretary and an administrative assistant. She loved parties, decorating, walks on the beach and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Canfield of Offutt Lake, Washington; son, Ric Canfield of Oceanside, California; daughters, Debbie (Stan) Simmons of Navarre, Florida, Kristi (Chris) Bair of Dupont, Washington, Karin (Jeremy) Young of Salem, Oregon; stepbrother, Chuck (Marie) Eggleston of Ironwood, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Lena "Liz" Dingman; brother, Dick Dingman; son, Joe Canfield; and stepmom Kay Eggleston Dingman.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. - floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
