Judith Cavazos Obituary

Judith Ann Cavazos

Indialantic - Judith Ann Cavazos, "Judi", passed away Thursday March 26th, 2020 at the age of 77. Judi was born May 19th, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. The eldest daughter of Peter and Grace Diamos, and sister to Patricia Duquette. When Judi was 17 she met the love of her life, Rolando Cavazos. Shortly after, they were married and brought 7 beautiful children into the world, Peter Cavazos, Maria Drake, Rolando Cavazos Jr., Tina Vasile, John Cavazos, Victoria Lalonde, and Gloria Kusch. Her children gifted her with 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, continuing her legacy of strong will and generosity. Judi and Rolando lived in Michigan until 1973 when they moved their family of 9 to Melbourne Beach, Florida. After her 7th child started school, Judi put herself through nursing school while working a full-time job and raising her 7 children. In 1980, she graduated in the top 10 percent of her class. She then accepted a nursing position at Holmes Regional Medical Center. There, she worked for over 30 years as a Surgical Intensive Care Nurse. Judi was extremely passionate about the amazing miracles possible through organ and tissue donation. So much so, she founded the Tiger Team, an organization of that worked to promote awareness for organ and tissue donation. There is no telling how many lives Judi helped save but she certainly blessed so many by simply being a part of ours. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, Melbourne 321-724-2222. Condolences afcfcare.com

Mother to my very best friend John. You always loved and opened your heart and home to us. The hole and empty space that is left in each of our hearts is not filled or quenched, nor can it really be. And so not expected that your presence be removed from our lives. Many feel we didnt get to say the right goodbye or the parting hug we cherished. That says to us that you remain with us in our hearts more, on our thoughts more, listening to our cares and prayers more - we still feel your presence and it is that presence we must replace that absence the best we can. For your soul we pray and see that Angels greet you and take you into rest. Your okay now that you have traded this failing body with a spiritual one and you join those family members that have made the crossing before. We on earth look through a glass that is dark and with dim light. We are told that crossing over you see with full light and brightness, and a whole body that doesnt have the faults and weak flesh of this world. God rest your soul in eternal sunlight and strength. Pray for us over there. Continue to guide your children and grandchildren in the paths of right and good things. We miss you.

Judi also known as Ya ya to my children and the rest of her wonderful family. She was a wonderful person. I met Judi at the age of 16 when dating her youngest son John. She was a warm friendly person who loved to cook. I shared that passion with her and she taught me some great recipes from her Greek heritage. My two favorites spinakopita and baklava. She will be missed by everyone as she was truly a wonderful person.
