Judith M. Cayard, of Savanna, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 4, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna.
Judy was born May 21, 1945, daughter of Marion and Dorothy (Novak) Snow. She and her twin sister Jean where the oldest of five children, growing up in Indiana. Judy graduated from Maine Township High School West with the class of 1963. The Snows then moved from Indiana to Des Planes, IL, and then to the Carroll County area. Around this time Judy joined the United States Army, where she would work as a warehouse manager. After her time in the military Judy moved to Savanna, IL, and began work at Swiss Colony. Judy stayed in Savanna for the rest of her life.
In her free time Judy loved to read. She always enjoyed a good mystery or science fiction novel. She was also an avid gardener, spending nicer days outside with her plants and flowers. Judy was her own person, who had her own way of doing things. At her core, Judy had a kind and loving heart.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Doug) Lawrence; two grandchildren; two sisters, Susan (Jesse) Fosdick of Savanna, and Louise Kallemeyn of Savanna; one brother, Tom Snow of Taiwan; many nieces and nephews; and her pet parrot, Ozzie
Judy is preceded in death by her sons, Steve and Carl; her daughter, Amy; her twin sister, Jean; her parents, Marion and Dorothy; and her brother-in-law, Paul Kallemeyn
