Judith Ann Bowman Connley, 80, of
Covington, KY died just before the summer solstice on June 19, 2024. She was best known as Judy Connley, a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many and loved by all. She was born to Bill & Kate Bowman on April 6, 1944, while her father was away fighting in WWII. She spent her younger years in
Covington, KY until her family moved to Goodridge Drive in Florence, KY when she was 12 years old and where the love of her life lived just down the street, although neither of them knew it yet. She attended St. Henry High School and graduated in 1962. Her first job was a secretary at a business in Cincinnati where she typed on a manual typewriter and learned valuable bookkeeping skills that would later serve her well when she and her husband successfully ran Connley Heating & Air Conditioning. Judy and Ron, her husband of 48 years, were acquaintances throughout their childhood as they lived on the same street, however, it wasn't until after he came home from the Air Force that they fell in love and married on March 18, 1967. Together they built a life, had three children, and after inheriting the family business, ran it together until retirement. Judy was an expert at office administration and kept meticulous records. She could recall or retrieve every document faster than any bookkeeping software. After retirement, Ron and Judy purchased property in Owenton, KY, where they enjoyed peace and quiet until Ron's death in 2015. Judy spent her twilight years in assisted living, where her light still shined on everyone she met. She was a sweet, kind woman, always with a smile and always making friends easily. She maintained a sweet disposition even through dementia, even through falls that broke her back, then her hip, and ultimately lead her home to be with the Lord. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Ronald Connley and brother-in-law: Steve Book. Judith leaves behind her daughters: Christine (Brad) Wood and Jill (Paul) Baumgartner; son: David Connley; brothers: Bill (Nancy) Bowman, Dave (Valerie) Bowman and Jeff (Diane) Bowman; sisters: Kathy Book, Linda (Tom) Withorn and Donna (Jack) Herbstreit; grandchildren: Andrew (Cassie) Baumgartner, Katie (Greg Garrison) Baumgartner and Brianna Baumgartner and great-grandchildren: Oliver Garrison and Oscar Garrison. A Celebration of Judy's Life will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Affinity of Union Clubhouse, 3000 Affinity Fields, Union, KY 41091. I lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Judy's name to the Cincinnati Children's hospital Cancer Hospice at Give.CincinnatiChildrens.org.
