Judith L. Currens

Judith L. Currens, age 81, passed away on February 17, 2026 at home in Ellettsville, IN. She was born on July 20, 1944 in Crawfordsville to Bernice (Hamilton) Holmes.

Judi was a graduate of Gosport High School, Class of 1962. She traveled throughout her life, living in various countries around the world, finally settling in Ellettsville 9 years ago. Judi remembered living in the Philippines during the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991. She also enjoyed vacationing during her time abroad. Judi was known for her gifts of hand-crafted crocheted blankets. She also loved animals, caring for several dogs and cats during her life. Judi had an active social circle and had special relationships with friends over several decades.

Judi is survived by her children, Maurice (Leslie) Lockhart Jr., Maureen (Daniel) Bever, Jason (Dana) Lockhart and Jon Casey Curran; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; and brother, David (Susan) Holmes. She will be greatly missed by her several friends and her bonus daughter, Kristina Roby.

She was predeceased by her mother, Bernice Mason; and a brother, Charles Holmes, Jr.
