Judith "Judy" Ann Armstrong Dove, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born on July 18, 1941, in Kanawha, West Virginia, to the late Paul James Armstrong and Gertrude Hatten Armstrong. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Janice Lee Bulmer.
After 30 years of dedicated service, Judy retired from the Department of Transportation. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she was baptized in 2019 during a very memorable service that brought her great joy.
Judy loved spending time at the beach, soaking up the sun, reading a good book, and listening to music. She was full of life, uniquely herself, and truly the "coolest aunt" anyone could ask for. Her nieces and nephews affectionately considered her their "Bonus Mother"-someone they could always turn to without fear of judgment. Though she was famously unable to keep a secret, her warmth, honesty, and love made her a trusted confidante and cherished friend.
Known for her impeccable fashion sense and her flair for driving the coolest cars (which she was always happy to lend out), Judy had a style and spirit all her own.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Judy is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many great-great-nieces and nephews. She shared a special bond with one great-nephew, Garrett Taylor her shining star, whom she loved as if he were her own grandson and who was by her side as she took her last breath. Her great-great-nephew, Aaden Andersen, lived with her his entire life and held a special place in her heart.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.
