Judith A. Edge

1941 - 2023

SOUTHINGTON - Judith A. Edge, 82, of Southington, passed away on November 29, 2023 at MidState Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Clifford "Tony" Edge, for 60 years. Judy was born in Hudson, NY, the daughter of the late Parker and Marguerite "Margie" Smith. She spent the first ten years in upstate NY and then moved to the Bronx, NY, when her mother got remarried to Francis Lakestream. Judy attended Evander Childs High School. After graduation, she went to work for Cosmopolitan Magazine as an Executive Secretary in NYC.

She moved along with her husband throughout his career. They built a home in Ledyard, CT, where they were active in the Ledyard Congregational Church, and made many lifelong friends. In 1978, Judy and Tony moved to Homer, NY, where she was employed by the City of Cortland Planning Dept. In 1983, Tony's career at Northeast Utilities brought them to Cheshire, CT. Judy worked for McLaughlin Real Estate for 15 years. Judy and Tony were active members of the Plantsville Congregational Church for over 30 years, where Judy served on various committees and was a member of the choir.

Throughout the years, Judy enjoyed doll making, painting, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family.

Judy is survived by her son Greg and his wife Lana, son Christopher and his wife Christina, grandson Alex and his wife Katelyn, sisters Diane Murphy and Gina Lakestream, and brother-in-law Dave Edge. She left behind her adored cat Leo, who comforted her after the loss of Tony.

There will be a private service for family only, followed by a Celebration of Life in the summer. Donations can be made to the ASPCA or the Memorial Gift Committee of the Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St., Plantsville CT 06479.
