Judith Ellen Gade, 82, of Bushnell, Illinois, passed away at 6:56 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

She was born May 25, 1943, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Grover and Cornelia (Brumby) Murphy. On May 12, 2006, she married Gilbert Lee Gade in Bushnell; he survives.

Also surviving are her children: David (Debbie) Cuba of Dallas, PA; Daniel (Dawn) Cuba of Ashland, IL; and Ellen (Ronald) Foster of Colchester, IL; three stepchildren: Tonya (Adam) Hoier of Cocoa, FL; Valeria (Brandon) Juneman of Tucson, AZ; and Sara Gade of Quincy, IL; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Don (Alicia) Murphy of Keokuk, IA; Jim (Karen) Murphy of Lee's Summit, MO; and Rick Murphy of Eddyville, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Luke Foster; and her brother, Dennis Murphy.

Judith's education began in a one-room schoolhouse outside of Denver, Illinois. She later graduated from Carthage High School and went on to attend Gem City Business College, where she gained the skills for a successful career as an administrative assistant. She was known for her exceptional speed and accuracy as a typist, coupled with precise notetaking that made her invaluable in any office setting.

Her career included work at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg before she accepted a position at Western Illinois University, where she served in various offices throughout her tenure until retirement. After retiring from WIU, she continued to share her talents at the Elms Nursing Home before fully settling into retirement.

A devoted member of the Industry Assembly of God Church, Judith taught Sunday School and was active in the Missionettes program, reflecting her strong faith and dedication to her church community.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, with Pastor Jon Keck officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Industry Assembly of God Church. Online condolences may be left at www.martinhollisfh.com.

So very sorry to learn of Judy's passing. I didn't know in time to attend her service. She was a former co-worker at WIU, and a dear and loyal friend. We enjoyed cards and letters back & forth for many years. My deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers for Gil, Ellen, Daniel, David, and all the rest of Judy's family. Sending a memorial to Industry Assembly of God Church.
