Judith L. (Schindler) Harrington, 67, of Windsor Locks, formerly of Ellington, best friend and loving wife of over 16 years to Michael J. Harrington, passed away peacefully, with Michael at her side on Sunday, March 9, 2026, after an extended illness. Judy was born on April 21, 1958, in Manchester, one of two loving and cherished daughters of Alfred E. and Shirley S. Schindler of Ellington.
Judy was raised in Ellington and was a graduate of Ellington High School, Class of 1977. She was employed with several different companies throughout her life. Her most enjoyable position was working at Standard Register as a secretary for over 10 years. Prior to her illness, Judy was employed with Companions & Homemakers where she was a caregiver for Mr. Harrington in Windsor Locks. It was there she met his son, Michael, whom she fell in love with and married in 2009.
Along with spending time with her family, Judy enjoyed cooking and visiting local wineries throughout Connecticut and Western New York. Judy and Mike especially enjoyed traveling and spending time in the Finger Lakes region of New York State.
Judy is survived by her husband, Michael Harrington as well as her parents, Alfred and Shirley Schindler all of Ellington, and many wonderful friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her sister, Deborah (Schindler), Patterson and her husband, Richard.
Calling hours will be at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon, CT 06066, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. At the request of her family, burial in Grove Hill Cemetery in Vernon will be private.
