Judith "Judy" (Rasmussen) Hedenberg

SOUTHINGTON

Judith "Judy" (Rasmussen) Hedenberg, 80, of Southington, widow of David Hedenberg, passed away Wednesday (March 4, 2026) at Jerome Home in New Britain. A native and longtime New Britain resident, Judy was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 1964, lived in Farmington until moving to Southington in 2008. She was a longtime employee of American Savings Bank in Downtown New Britain until becoming an Administrative Assistant at UConn Medical Center in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Academic Office. In her later years, Judy was very involved with Southington Community Services and the Southington Elk's Lodge # 1669. Judy's greatest happiness came from being helpful to those around her. Always optimistic, she faced each day positively and found much joy in the companionship of family and friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Laura Jarvis and her husband Kenneth of Madison; and Janet Scalise and her husband Jonathan of Southington; a sister, Joyce Fisher and her husband Christopher of Oxford; The joys of her life, her six grandchildren, Isabella, Lily, Sofia and Olivia Scalise, and Kaitlin and Alexander Jarvis; and her nieces and nephews, Karen, Susan, Gregory, Jennifer and Todd. Judy's family wishes to extend gratitude to Dr. Kevin Watson, Dr. Brian Byrne, The Hartford Healthcare Cancer Center, the Jerome Home and the Hartford Healthcare Hospice for their loving care.

Calling hours are Sunday (March 8th) 2 to 4 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday (March 9, 2026) 9 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Road, Southington. Please go directly to St. Dominic's Church.
