Judith Ann "Judy" Hudson, 78, of Calhoun, Missouri, formerly of Kayenta, Arizona, passed away Friday morning, January 20, 2023, at Research Medical Center, in Kansas City, Mo. Judy was born on September 24, 1944, in Clinton, Mo., to James Albert and Gladys Irene (Vandiver) Young.
On February 10, 1962, she married Gary Dean Hudson in Calhoun, Mo. Gary preceded her in death on June 3, 2000.
Judy was retired, but previously worked as a desk clerk at the Hampton Inn in Kayenta, Arizona. She had also been a bank teller, grocery cashier, and a substitute teacher. Judy enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, trail riding, raising livestock, traveling and spending time with family and friends, volunteering at Wednesday Night Bingo at Kayenta Catholic Church, watching the Kansas City Chiefs play, going to the casino, baking and making Christmas candy.
Judy is survived by her companion, Russell Hudson, of the home; sister Sharon Church (Dale), Clinton, Mo.; sister-in-law Linda Young, Warsaw, Mo.; daughter Frances Stevens (Henry) of Navajo Mountain, Utah; four grandchildren, Justin Hudson, Sr. (Saraphine), Terry John (Waynette), Shishawnia Stevens (Brian), and Roman Stevens; 11 great-grandchildren, Shinaya Stevens, Justin Hudson, Jr., Desiree Hudson, Justine Hudson, Isaiah Austin, Taylor John, Silas Archuleta, Hunter Daniels, Emma John, Sariyah Hudson and Wyatt John; and numerous relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband Gary, Judy was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Dean Hudson, parents, James Albert Young, Sr. and Gladys Irene (Vandiver) Young, brother, James Albert "Jimmie" Young, Jr., and a nephew, James Richard Young.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor, Mo. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, Mo. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the funeral home from noon until 7:00 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the Calhoun Methodist Church or the Calhoun Cemetery and these may be left in care of the funeral home.
