Judith Kay Rosa, 84, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday November 4, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 15th, 2024, at the St. Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Kerry Ninemire officiating. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Johnson Mass-Hinitt Chapel with a Vigil Service being conducted at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the St. Xavier Catholic Church and/or the Knights of Columbus c/o St. Xavier Catholic Church.

Judy was born May 18, 1940, in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of Marshall Wade and Leola (Rabey) Clercx. She has lived in Junction City since 1972.

Judy started her teaching career in Minneapolis, MN in 1961. She would always point out that it was the same year the Minnesota Vikings started playing in Minnesota. She was a lifelong Vikings fan. Judy taught for 39 years. She retired from teaching in 2000 after 28 years with the Geary County Unified School District 475. Judy was very active in the community. She joined the cast of several Junction City Little Theater productions; her favorite role was the Reverand Mother in Nunsense. She was also active in the Troubadours Vocal Group, the Junction City and Abilene Bands as well as various clubs and civic organizations.

She was an active member of St. Xavier Catholic Church.

On February 2, 1963, she married John S.F. Rosa in Jasper, MN.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie (Rosa) Taylor and husband Bruce of Junction City, KS, one son, John David Rosa and wife Lisa of Olathe, KS. She is survived by five grandchildren, Jessica and husband Joseph, Ashley and husband James, John Robert and wife Allison, Kimberly and Matthew. She enjoyed being a great-grandmother to 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Jolene and Marla and one brother Rick, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her brother David.
